My absolute favorite time of year is the Fall. The weather starts to get cooler, the trees start to change color, and family pictures are in high demand. This year I was lucky enough to be able to take one of my sisters Sonora family portraits. These portraits are so incredibly special to me and I am so excited to share a few with you!

Once September rolls around, I begin to get quite a few calls about family portraits and scheduling a session. Unfortunately, this year, I had to turn a few families away as I was booked during the time that they wanted the session. So I have a couple of tips to make sure that you get your family portraits scheduled:

1. Plan ahead: Plan out with your family the best time and place to have your session. This way everyone can mark their calendar for the session and it is something that they can look forward to rather than feeling rushed.
2. Book your family session prior to September 1st: Once the holidays get closer more and more people want to have Christmas cards to go out to family and friends. Quite a few photographers are already booked up. If you get your session scheduled prior to September 1st you will most likely get the exact date that you want whether that be for sometime in October, November, or sometime in December. As long as you schedule and book the date with your photographer, you have nothing to worry about.
3. Don't be afraid to have your family session any time during the year: You don't necessarily need to have your family session during the last part of the year in order to have Christmas cards ready. You can always plan you family session during the Spring or Summer.
