Oh man have I been wanting to have an engagement session at the beach! I mean, it has been about a year since I have been longing for a beach session. I am always in the mountains, and man do I love them, but I sure do love the beach as well.

Luckily, one of my beautiful brides had the same idea. She knew of this awesome dog park in San Francisco called Fort Funston.

We scheduled the session to be in the evening for sunset and thought it would be so amazing to arrive a little bit early to have a picnic and scope out the area.

Let me tell you, this place is absolutely amazing! It is huuuggeeee! At first I was a little skeptical about a dog park in the middle of San Francisco. Obviously, I haven’t ever been there, but when Christina told me that it was amazing all my doubts went away.

I arrived early to my San Francisco engagement session in Fort Funston and was absolutely amazed. This place is HUGE and there are dogs and people all over the place, yet it didn’t seem that busy which was just awesome. All the dogs were off leash and all of them were so incredibly well mannered. Everyone just went about minding their own business and enjoying the scenery, the fresh air, and the sounds of nature. Let me tell you, I will definitely be going back to this beautiful place.

Christina and Alex arrived and we headed out on our adventure for a yummy picnic, a beautiful engagement session, and an amazing sunset.

Right at the parking lot you get to see the beautiful ocean, and then when you head out on the trail, you get into some amazing ocean flowers, trees, and picnic areas.

If you keep walking, which you really need to do, all of the sudden the trail opens up to a vast ocean scenery.

After eating our dinner, we were still a little early for the sun and golden hour so we decided to sit in some open shade, chat, and just have a good time. The entire session was full of so much love and laughter I just can’t even get over it. I am so incredibly obsessed with this session, the ocean, and these two beautiful souls.

When the suns started to set, we made our way down to the beach. There wasn’t hardly anyone on the beach which was just so awesome. It made for pretty much the absolute perfect session every. You could see for days, and there was no one in site. Can you tell I am obsessed with this place?

After adventuring around the beach at Fort Funston we started dancing and playing around in the water.

P.s. please notice the ohhhh soooo cute doggies in the photos. If you are ever hesitating on bringing your dog to an engagement session, don’t hesitate! You need to bring them! First of all, they are your family, and second they make the photos so cute, and third they are a huuugggeee part of your life and make sessions that much more special!.

After an evening full of dancing and twirling we started our trek back to the cars. The wind started to settle down, and the quiet started to set in. We hugged goodbye only to see each other again at the wedding!

Christina and Alex, you guys are the absolute cutest ever. You are so incredibly amazing to be around and your love shines so bright. Thank you so much for choosing me to be your photographer, and for picking Fort Fuston for your engagement session. I am beyond excited for your wedding and can’t wait to capture all those memories!
